Who is Island Wesleyan Church?

Island Wesleyan is a church that believes in Jesus
Constantly amazed by the one who is creator, redeemer, and sustainer of our lives, we want to connect people with a God who loves us and gives hope to the hurting and healing to the broken.

what we believe
we believe
Worship of God should be Spiritual. Therefore: We remain flexible and yielded to the Holy Spirit to direct our worship.
we believe
Worship of God should be Inspirational. Therefore: We give a central place to music in our worship.
we believe
Worship of God should be Intelligent. Therefore: Our services are designed with great emphasis upon teaching of the Bible that he might instruct us how to live our lives as an act of worship to him.
we believe
Worship of God is Fruitful. Therefore: We look for His Love in our lives as the supreme manifestation that we have truly been worshiping Him.
Island Wesleyan Church is part of the Atlantic District of the Wesleyan Church of Canada
Wesleyans believe in one God, who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and the Savior of all who put their faith in him alone for eternal life.
We believe that those who are made new in Christ are called to be holy in character and conduct and can only live this way by being filled with the Lord’s Spirit.
We believe in the Bible and its sufficiency to establish our faith and conduct.
We believe God wills for people everywhere to know him and be made new in Christ.
We believe that the purpose of the Church is to worship God in spirit and in truth, and to reach a lost and fallen world with the gospel of Jesus Christ through its worship, witness and loving deeds.
These terms describe the “soul of the Church”: Biblical authority, Christlikeness, Disciple Making, Local Church-Centered, Servant Leadership
our pastor

Aaron Reimer
After being born in 1980 in Summerside, PEI, his parents promptly moved him west to Ontario. It’s okay. He’s back now. He likes writing and geeky things like board games and the vexingly cancelled television show Firefly.
Published writing includes The Art of Being Broken, Worshipping Through John: A Devotional For Praise Teams, and a short story about going to Jupiter with his dad that he wrote when he was seven. He has one wife (Vanessa), two sons (Dúnadan and Taliesin), and many cats.

sunday services
Our services start at 10:00 AM every Sunday. They point to our God who is the creater, redeemer, and sustainer of our lives. It's not a performance for the people arounds. Rather, it's about connecting with a God who loves us, and gives hope to the hurting and healing to the broken. So we aren't concerned about what you wear, or if you're singing, or what you know about the Bible. All you need to do is be yourself, and come with an open heart and mind.
Our services last about an hour, during which you'll experience worship in song, prayer, scripture, a bit of chatting, and a relevant message from the Bible about God's will for our lives.
a note about giving:
At Island Wesleyan, we believe that all we have is because of God. Part of our worship involves giving some of that back to God in thanksgiving. Money given in offering is used to support the work of the church, both inside and outside the building. You're not going to see us "pass the plate" for donations during the service, but if you've reached a place where you'd like to financially support IWC, you can place an offering on the plate on the table at the back of the sanctuary, or (coming soon) give online through Canada Helps.
