“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Cor. 9:7)
we call it stewardship
At Island Wesleyan, we believe that all we have is because of God. Part of our worship involves giving some of that back to God in thanksgiving. Money given in offering is used to support the work of the church, both inside and outside the building. You’re not going to see us “pass the plate” for donations during the service, but if you’ve reached a place where you’d like to financially support IWC, there are a couple of ways for you to take part.
at the church
At the back of the sanctuary, there is a silver plate shaped like a fish. That’s where we leave cash and cheques. There are envelopes available if you’d like to designate your offering to a specific purpose. Why a fish, you ask? Because in the Bible, there is a story of Jesus taking just a couple of fish and feeding a multitude. God takes our little and makes it a lot.
It’s easy to give online! Use the form below to give a one time donation or set up regular monthly donations through Canada Helps, who will issue your tax receipt. It’s fast, it’s easy, and it’s safe.
It’s not shaped like a fish, though.
